Never have we experienced a recruiting challenge like we are seeing today!

Thank you for your trust in us to provide contract cleaning services and/or staffing for your business; we know, it’s tough out there! With pent up post-covid demand and summer ahead of us, together we will partner through what can only be described as an unprecedented hiring environment.

Why the hesitancy to re-enter the workforce? Potential reasons, albeit debatable, include:

  • Health risk concerns- delay in getting COVID vaccinations

  • Dependency on enhanced unemployment benefits ($300/wk ending September 6th)

  • Childcare availability/affordability- kids out of schools needing home supervision

  • Shift in the workforce- employees who left the hotel and retail environments forever to assume new roles in distribution plants and manufacturing

Notwithstanding, we have two upcoming impacts to be aware of:

  • CA State surplus distribution of $12 Billion to low and middle-income households. This is a one-time payment to select households, estimated between $500 - $1,000.

  • Federal distribution of Child Cash Benefits as part of the Coronavirus Relief Bill/American Rescue Plan. Beginning in July, and each month thereafter, qualified families will receive up to $300 per child under the age of 6 and $250 over the age of 6 for low-, middle- and upper-income households. Exact payments will depend on household income and other factors. Monthly payments will continue through December, however may be extended through 2025 in the American Families Plan Act introduced last month.

At CSG we have initiated several items that we wish to share with you. First, to increase retention and reduce turnover, we have enhanced our Team Member Recognition Program ensuring we appreciate and communicate beyond the usual. To do this successfully we have hired four Account Managers. Next, we have added 5 full-time recruiters to search for talent everywhere from EDD offices to individual communities. In addition, all current employees earn $300 per new hire referral fee and new associates receives a $500 hiring incentive with some clients matching that to total $1,000. Finally, we have included generous transportation options that include carpooling and discounted bus pass rates. We have even gone so far to offer a $25 gift card to candidates who show up for an interview.
